This little hedgehog was eating under the bird table this afternoon.
There is a pile of leaves in the corner under this trough so Harry & I think it will be looking to hibernate in there. Will have to be careful to remember not to clean out the leaves just in case it's sleeping for the winter.
Three good things:
1. We have been back to the walk in centre where Harry had his ear syringed, he just thought he was still a big deaf but nothing there. I had a coffee & read my book while I waited.
2. Lunch out.
3. A stroll round Blackpool in the wind & rain, wasn't pleasant but we got our shopping.
What a lovely find in your garden and plenty of dried leaves for him to hibernate for the winter .. I wish my garden was a haven for hedgehogs ,but with Alfie that is not so . A hedgehog came to visit our garden in September but Alfie spotted of smelt it and was in for the kill !! Fortunately Gary rescued the hedgehog which seemed to be unharmed as he ran away when Gary put him on the side lawn , fenced off from Alfie !! Alfie did have a bloody mouth but I think it was his own blood where he was punctured by the hedgehog spines !! Little monster , but doing what terriers do !!
@beryl I think Alfie would perhaps be a bit scared of another visiting hedgehog perhaps Beryl, would like to think he might think, 'not going near that prickly thing'!
I used to love spotting hedgehogs in the garden when we lived in the UK. None here though, although we do get echidnas.
Instead of hedgehogs we now feed a pair of possums each night. A mum and baby visit each evening to feed on the fruit we put out for them.
So sweet! I love this shot of your little garden B&B guest. I'm certain it will find the winter accommodations to be delightful should it decide to stay. :)
