Out for our lunch at Daisy Clough Nursery today & then on to Pilling trying to find Pilling Pottery.
The crockery they use in the tearooms come from there & each time I go I say I want to buy some of their pottery.
A roundabout tour of this rather flat wet area, very undulating roads because of the mossy land Harry was not happy for the car! Tyre wreckers he calls the roads!
Found the pottery eventually to find it closed, I will go back next week on my own I think!
Three good things:
1. We bought an allegedly squirrel proof nut feeder.
2. The best chips we have eaten for a long time!
3. Little Women on the TV, third & last part tonight. My favourite book when I was a child, I am enjoying seeing the televised version. Not too far from my own image in my mind thank goodness.
Oh this does look a bit bleak ... annoying about the pottery being closed .. but seems to be that way with alot of business's here as well.. @dide nephew has a pottery business in Waihi perhaps you could check that out when you are here .. he does some beautiful work and suplies a lot of resturants... http://www.laughingpottery.com/
@busylady Little Women how satisfying was that Judith? Tied all the ends up nicely & pretty close to the book buy why did I always think the father had died, I don't remember him being in it much.
@julzmaioro Pottery place open next Tuesday Julz! Interesting to hear about Dianne nephew, handy for her! Will check it out after I have done a bit of commenting! Watching good TV so slacking tonight!
@onewing Yes it's because it's Christmas but we do know where it is now which is a good thing. I also found out that you could buy things from there. Thought it might be just a workshop & trade.
@beryl Yes but we know where it is so one up, I have wondered for years & I could never find it the few times we went over the river. Hope I can remember where it is again!
It is very flat - looks a bit like I would imagine Holland would be! What a shame about the pottery being closed after all that planning! Being Christmas it is more than likely! We were going to sit in the Raffles Hotel lounge in Singapore but fortunately I looked at it online and found it was completely closed for renovations!
@maggiemae well that was a big shame maggie! You could have had a gin sling & chucked your nut shells on the floor! Singapore Gin sling is expensive & overated in my opinion!
Pity the pottery was closed.
