I took a trip to Blackpool today & braved the promenade!
Big big waves & a mighty wind blowing, it nearly blew me off my feet!
Not only me out there, quite a few of us out with our cameras. It was a tough decision to decide which one to use so I've posted two today.
I was disappointed with M&S this morning as I thought Harry & I would like stir fry for our evening meal as a change & we do love M&S stir fry.
You get 4 ingredients for £7 normally but two of the components were reduced so I ended up paying £7.05 for reduced items which was dearer than if I had paid full price! Not happy, it's not the money obviously but I have paid more so they can get rid of their almost out if date produce! Doesn't make sense but apparently that's the rule, no reduced stuff in any meal deal!
Three good things:
1. The wind didn't knock me over!
2. So lovely to see so many returning names on 365. It's like old times!
3. I've done the ironing!
We have photographers and other idiots washed off our jetty during storms every year, and rescue personnel risking their life trying to retrieve them. I understand the appeal but I hope you stayed well away from any real chance of being swept to sea.
A very visual storm ! with those huge waves bashing acros the prom -- It looks as if the wind and storm is bending the lights ( I know this is their design !)Stunning - fav
Blimey Pat that's amazing! Love the wheel there too. Last time we were in Blackpool (on an August day!!) you couldn't stand upright on the Comedy Carpet so I can't imagine what it was like today!!
Fabulous capture of the wave and lovely against the sky, building and that very fragile looking wheel. Happy and healthy New Year Pat, to you and yours xx
@maggiemae it was by chance I can assure you maggie, I just aimed wildly as the sorry was all over me blown by the wind & it was sunny, I had to wait until the sun had gone behind a cloud. I didn't know what I had got until I uploaded!
Holy Moley! That is a wonderful shot - although it slightly scares me. I remember walking down there in heavy rain and it was awful...this is spectacular!!
I started off thanking you all individually but got bogged down half way. Younare all fantastic with your lovely comments & faves, than planned you so much!
Thank you ladies, I also, think I was quite brand as anyone who knows me well knows I am rather frightened of the sea so to even walk round the corner & faced with the sea in all its full fury was enough to give me nightmares! We live more than seven miles from the sea & high up on a small hill so well out of danger from flooding. The river yesterday was very full as it's hight tide time so it actuallyy looked as though the sea was coming in!
