It was this big......

Turned into a really wet day after lunch.
Harry & I had a trip out to the Landrover garage near Preston. It used to be located in a village near us so very handy for Harry's car service. They are now miles away so we went for a recky to see how to get there.
Paid a visit to a nearby out of town shopping complex & had a teacake & coffee in M&S.
You can see Harry paying at the counter.

Three good things:
1. Stirfry for dinner.
2. Three free things....a Sun newsapaper in W H Smith. Two free samples of perfume in Boots the Chemist. All of them we could easily do without but you don't often get anything for nothing!
3. We took the washing in before we set off......
The poor little lady in pink looks really fed up - she could be waiting for the rain to pass - Absolutely poured here all day - worse in the afternoon ! The lady in black must have caught a big one !! ha ha ! So lovely to sit and people watch ! - I am quite partial to tis hobby ! All those freebies -- love little treats whether I need them or not !!

Yes, lady in pink very fed up - no doubt waiting on a friend! Wouldn't you love to know what the lady is telling her friend about. Is hubby a fisherman, I wonder?

@julzmaioro So she does Julz, I never knew how she kept a straight face!

@beryl @jamibann I think lady in pink was waiting for her tea! You see these people but I don't remember actually seeing them when I took the photo!

@beryl The rain was drumming on M&S roof, it was nice in the cafe though. There was a chap in there with his wife who we used to buy agriculture stuff of but he didn't recognise us. We were fascinated how he sat there reading his newspaper & his wife looked bored to death! You can do that a home but when you're out you should make an effort to look like a couple I reckon! 😄

@gijsje b. The chat is what it's all about for me Bep! You get different perceptions on the scene!

A super candid capture. Love to stop for a coffee at M and S. Luckily we have a Simply M and S locally. The main store in town closed down in August. If Debenhams should close, there would be no reason to go into town at all.

@carolmw We have a Simply M&S at a nearby garage too but no cafe of course & my favourite yoghurt Honey & Ginger is 90p at local one but 75p at proper shop! We do like having one near us though a,though limited variety.

I reckon the lady in pink is just daydreaming and suddenly noticed the lens pointing at her.........bit of a "what?!" look about her to me!

I loved what @beryl said! The pink lady is tired of listening to the two young ladies silly talk! I presume M&S is Marks and Spencer?
September 20th, 2018
@maggiemae Yes you could be right maggie, the tables are quite close together, doesn't matter if you are with someone else but as a single diner I would always have a book in my bag. Yes Marks & Spencer's.

I love people watching. The lady in pink looks totally fed up and I think she spotted you taking the photo too.

Great candid...like all the different expressions!

That one lady looks so frustrated...and the others so animated. Made for a nicely balanced candid.

I love this, a snapshot of life in an M&S cafe.
