The houses in the Hope Street area of Liverpool were Georgian, reminded me of Dublin a bit with the steps up & those beautiful long windows.
Three good things:
1. When we got back from Garstang Lydia had let herself in & was using our kitchen to study in, the electric was off at her house.
2. Watching garden makeovers, it's wonderful how a bit of money spent on a professional garden update can be so benifiacial to a house. Great if you have no time for such things!
3. Harry fixed the draughty window upstairs!
Looks like an Amazon delivery !! Love these Georgian houses , somehow so regal ! and so clean and bright with their colourful doors Well done Harry - fixed it just in time before the wintry weather !
@beryl Yes Beryl, a north facing bathroom window letting in a big drought! Harry has put a tape all round the edge where it wasn't fitting right, hope it works!
@julzmaioro Such vivid colours. Apparently in Dublin one of the theories about doors painted brightly is that the men of the house could find their own front door when drunk! @carolmw@mave
@gijsje A great feature of Dublin so it was lovely to see them in Liverpool too Bep. How lovely to have a place to call a second home when your daughter lived there. I love Dublin.
Good for your spotting the different colours on the doors. Just tell anybody - go to the 'red' or yellow door! Four storey places seem quite common in England!
@louannwarren A lovely street with cute cafes & arty places. I have five shop windows to show you over the next few days Maggie & Lou Ann. Four stories are not unipusual in the Uk, a cellar & three upper stories. @maggiemae
I love the brightly coloured doors. I know exactly how this chap feels, we have moved house 16 times and have packed thousands of boxes over the years.
