I have spent most of the day in the Rural Tent at the Great Eccleston Show.
I have moved sideways from the Horticultural marquee to serving read!
Lots less work but still helping out.
This year we have new chairs & some posh cups & saucers.
They wanted us to wear a shirt of uniform of black trousers & white shirts but we rebelled, well some of us did, if they want us to wear uniform we want paying!
It’s volunteering & we like to walk round the show ourselves so wear something we are comfortable in & like!
What lovely china tea cups and saucers - very up-market / posh for tea in a tent !! What a lovely place to help - super place for people watching and a chat ! I don't blame you for rebelling against an uniform as it is not a salaried job ! - some people take the biscuit , don't they !
@maggiemae Tea, coffee, cold drinks, snacks, biscuits etc. We have no TV this year which is a bit if a disappointment as Wimbledon final on, British Grand Prix plus cricket World Cup against NZ... the cups came from the charity shop...the owner of Blackpool Pleasure Beach is down sizing & gave her crockery to charity so the show bought it. Tired tonight so have hung on as late as I could before bed...if I go too early I’m awake too soon....slept badly last night!
Love the china set. Now I want a cup of tea! Good for you not wearing the uniform. I would have worn a name tag or even a vest or apron, but not an entire uniform for free.
