Thursday market

Funny I didn’t actually see the food sign until I uploaded this photo. It just shows you shouldn’t have your camera to your eye too often..you miss stuff! I would have had a proper look at the Nigerian food if I had seen it!

Three good things:
1. Great weather for Garstang Agricultural Show...we didn’t go as Harry has a cold & we had done B&b breakfasts so couldn’t be bothered!
2. Sandals are so comfy!
3. I’m reading a brilliant & moving book called The Salt Path by Raynor Winn a true story.
Boo
I have been in my sandals all summer..love them. Mmm Nigerian food...shame you didn't explore more!

I find that the sign really adds to the shot!
Nicely taken.

Nice street view; just realized I don't know anything about Nigerian food. Googled and found this interesting link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_cuisine

@huvesaker @farmreporter I have never seen a Nigerian food in Garstang before...not great experimenters of food in our market town I wouldn’t think. Needs following up definitely!

When I go to a family gathering or some other event or even to a new place to walk - I make myself put down my camera for a while so I can also enjoy the even.t

So easy to miss things when glued to the camera ! Nice to find different stall at the market - I wonder did they have little tasters there !! I live in my sandals all summer for comfort and I find my feet are too hot on shoes in summer !1

The only thing I have learnt about Nigeria is that most scams come from there! Nice to know there are some good ones living here who want to share their food customs.
That book looks a must for me - probably is rather sad, though!

@maggiemae Yes you’re right about the scams, hadn’t thought about that bit! Yes book slightly shocking at the beginning but after that uplifting, inspiring too for all! I’m only on the third chapter!

Nice market image. We lived in Nigeria for a couple of years, and I have to say it's the only place I've ever lived (and we've lived in quite a few places) where I didn't take to the food! So, I suspect you didn't miss too much ... The Nigerian people however were delightful! :-)

@jamibann that’s interesting to hear that Issi, I had a regular b& b guest who’s husband worked for an oil company & he was based in Nigeria, she used to visit her son at a boarding school near here & she used to talk about her life in Lagos & said the same as you. What an interesting life you lead!!

Nice street (or market) scene. It would have been interesting to check out the food. I went to the book store today with my son, did not intend to buy anything and came out with three books!

You will have to go back and give the food a try

Lovely shot and I, too, would have been interested to have a better look, and perhaps taste, the Nigerian food. I love these street markets.
