The third time I have visited this market in Cork & it’s always a fascinating place to see.
So many different food stalls of all varieties.....butchers, bakers, fish mongers, vegetables plus coffee makers, cakes...you name it & it’s there!
Her Majesty the Queen visited here at the end of her 2011 Irish tour.
Plenty of info on google if you want to learn more.
In the next few days I will post other photos of the inside of the market.
Three good things:
1. Laughter.
2. Friendship
3. Full Irish breakfasts we don’t have to cook ourselves....on the other side of the kitchen this time!!
@julzmaioro A slight difference of the addition of white pudding as well as black pudding. They also have soda bread. I think this photo looks odd but I did put the straightener on but it still looks crooked,
Lovely flowers. I hate to say it but when Clare lived in Dublin we used to stay in B&B and one place had not enough places at table for breakfast so we were asked to go for a walk! And then there was stale soda bread.....
@quietpurplehaze Oh my word not a happy experience then!! We were in quite a posh hotel so all systems were go! We are done with b&bs...we like a bit of luxury at our time of life!! Funny when I run a b&b but you stay where is the handiest I find!
A lovely shot - love the cleanliness of the alleyway leading to the market and those hanging baskets are beautiful ! Sounds as if you are having a grand time there !
The hanging baskets are so pretty and that stone wall interesting - looks historic. I guess the only difference between an English breakfast and an Irish one is the bread! Bacon and eggs are bacon and eggs everywhere!
Oh, Cork, that brings back memories of a drilling campaign that hubby was involved in way back in the late 80's - before he was hubby! Dry well though! I went over to visit and had a lovely weekend there. I remember lots of super restaurants in the area - although I don't remember this market. Nice image.
is market when we were in Cork a few weeks ago. Now seeing our post, I regret it.
