Manchester airport this morning meeting our daughter in law off the Auckland flight.
I love going to the airport so got there in good time to have something to eat & a coffee while I waited. The plane was delayed ninety minutes but I knew that before I set off....love people watching & wondering who the waiting people were meeting off the plane.
Me & the lady waiting next to me we’re both thinking & wondering how these passengers managed to disembark without swollen feet....most in sandals looking elegant unlike me whose feet take a whole day to settle down....lucky things!
Three good things:
1. Lovely to catch up with Lesley.
2. Some NZ chocolate, a nice NZ shopping bag & a tree bauble came out of her bag! Liquorice for Harry.
3. I managed the 120mile journey fine after so long behind the wheel of my car!
Nice to spend some time with Lesley...
I love people watching aswell at the airport.. Though the time i hzd to pick up my sister and Niece after they return from the UK after 9/11 was a very different feel.. very somber ..
Nice thinking Pat - getting there in enough time to have a good rest before the return journey with your DIL .people watching and embroidering a story is a wonderful pastime !!
So good that Lesley is enthusiastic - be good to catch up. II think we all like people watching especially at an airport! Where they came from and what their story is!
Meeting family and friends at airport is so lovely...it's the other end that is tricky!
Do you ever wear flight socks? I'd recommend them after my first trip to Australia. On the way out my feet were like balloons but on the way home I was so comfortable. Even got a pair for Allan.
@sarah19 Well I have worn them Sallie but must admit I have been lax lately. I have a pair & must wear them this time as my surgeon was hesitant about me flying so soon after my op. Had to laugh as he said where you going...he was not too impressed when I said NZ & a non stop 17 hour flight from Dubai to Auckland! I agree my feet may be better with socks on.

Sorry been distracted tonight so not much commenting! Thank you for your kind words! Will do better tomorrow,
It must be nice to be behind the wheel again.
