A bit of shopping in Blackpool today, these dogs were lapping up the attention as this lady gave them a titbit.
A last minute photo before I came home. I do forget to get my camera out so often!
A funny thing happened today. Two years ago I bought some expensive jogging pants but I’ve never worn them as the always were too short in the leg. I thought it was my fault &I had got too big for them.
Thought they would be ideal for travelling in so I put them on this morning but again they didn’t fit right.
Lesley looked at them & said one legs shorter than the other!
I took them off & measured the difference at over two inches between each leg. Taking them back to the shop in the morning...can’t think why no one noticed before it’s so obvious when you look at them.
I will report back tomorrow.
Three good things:
1. Bought cards, wrapping & various bits & bobs to take with me.
2. A lovely dry bonfire evening.
3. I bought a lovely hard back copy of The Wind in the Willows to read to the boys...I reckon nothing of some of these modern children’s books. The ones for younger children are lovely & we’ve been through most of them but for older boys they do get a bit silly!
They might think my choice is boring but I will have a captive audience so we’ll see!!
As always dogs are interested in tit-bits aren't they ! Sounds as if you have had a good day shopping in prep for your trip . I am sure the boys will enjoy seeing you and have you reading them the lovely childhood story book ,
Good luck re the jogging pants - shall wait with abated breath to how you got on at the shop !
John got given 2 black short sleeved t shirts in Switzerland a while ago although they both said XL on the collar, one of them was distinctly smaller - so now I have a new shirt!
The Wind in the Willows is much better when being read to! I could listen to it all again!
Dogs are not allowed in our CBD here!
@maggiemae No I know you have much stricter rules about dogs in NZ. You treat them more as working dogs I think although I think that’s a good thing. We are far too soppy about dogs...well I’m not but most are!
Nice shot of the dogs.
Love your #3. Kenneth Grahame published this wonderful book in 1908. I remember my daughters loved it, but that's centuries ago...
Will they take them back after 2 years? Good luck! I agree with you about children's literature. I tried reading David Walliams but I just don't get it. I love Julia Donaldson though.
Beautiful dogs always get a lot of attention on the street. I always thought New Yorkers were rude and too busy to give your the time of day until once when I had a cute pup with me. The story about the pants is funny. Lucky you can return them.
I love The Wind in the Willows! Nothing wrong with the classics. Good luck with returning the trousers. I think you might be struggling if they're two years old but I await the outcome with interest!
Sweet doggy capture. Like the book idea. Ronald Dahl’s ‘Boy’ is a fabulous read for boys ... & girls too of course! Wind in the Willows a firm favourite!
I did smile at the length of trouser legs story.....and glad you got a refund....having read the next day!
I wonder if you have read any books by Michael Morpurgo? I met him at a conference a long time ago and he was so lovely. He writes a lot about experiences from his own life, some sad episodes in the stories but also mostly happy endings. And he and his family set up farms for city children to visit which is an amazing project. My Mum has enjoyed some of them too.
But I don't rate a lot of the books published for young people those days. Some are just about money making and poorly written. Sorry!!
