Village Christmas tree

Harry & I went into Lancaster today but it was only when I was getting in the car I realised I hadn’t taken one photo!
In the end I took this one of our village tree.
The bollards slightly spoil the look of it but apparently health & safety are terrified we are all going to trip over it!!

On the left is the old bank now a brilliant community centre where you can learn all sorts of skills such as computer for beginners, salsa dancing, Pilates, belly dancing.....& so on.
The fish & chip shop is open every day of the week until 8pm & next door to that on the right is the newsagents, off licence & now post office. Next along is the butchers, just just some of the many shops we are so lucky to have & are all thriving!

Three good things:
1. I have been racking my brains today trying to remember where I bought the amazing little plug you stick in the turkey & it tells you when it’s exactly cooked. It worked brilliantly last year in that massive turkey crown.
I have remembered!
2. Washing dried outside.... pretty good at this time of the year! You have to get it out early that’s the secret!
3. Almost the shortest day...dark at 4pm tonight.
Nice to have a peek of your village .. It really is a bonus when you can dry the washing outside in winter .. well done.. dark at 4pm seems a bit crazy .. but then you have such long days in summer ..

A nice snapshot into your local village. Yes, health and safety go over the top with some things! No washing being dried outside here today - some nice rain on its way we hope.

you should have got Harry to move the cones temporarily, while you did the photo Pat, nobody would have minded as long as you put them back

I'm glad I could read the inscription on the plaque. The Fish Bar looks inviting and the community centre sounds supportive. That interior thermometer is rather important. Good for steaks too!

Nice shot, I don't think they're scared anybody may trip. More likely to be scared of someone making a claim!
