Froth

I’ve always loved the flowers of the elderflower tree. The flat large flowers look amazing & of course if you can make elderflower wine too you’ve cracked it!
Something I have never done sadly.

Three good things:
1. A chat to a friend on the phone this afternoon.
2. Friends who have just heard they are going to be first time grandparents.
3. I bought some Heather plants & compost to fill a planter for my mum & dads grave.
That's beautiful. Such a distinctive flower. We had an elder tree at our last house and a neighbour used to make elderflower cordial with the flowers. It was lovely.

It is beautiful - my mum used to make Elderflower Champaign ( that was the name ! ) I remember allowed a small glass of it !! And funnily enough I remember Elderflower Wine being made - but somehow I remember it was dad that made the Elderberry wine - I loved the elderberry wine and was allowed a small glass if I had a cold !! Lovely memories Pat . Funnily enough my fav cordial is hand-picked elderflower by the Green Bottle !

Beautiful. We used to have an elderflower tree in our garden when we lived on Anglesey and a friend of ours used to make elderflower wine.

We have found this bush out in the wild and have taken advantage of the blossoms. Can become a bit of a weed though! Such tiny wee flowers!

Lovely flowers. Ours are flowering too. The berries, preferably with other fruits, can be used to make jam.

They look like tiny stars filling the sky - very pretty. Elderflower wine is new to me.

Are these the same as elderberries? They look like it. Our pigeons love the berries. There are two kind here. The ones we have with bright red berries and another kind with rich dark purple berries...great for making elderberry syrup to help avoid getting a cold

@jgpittenger Yes the berries are quite dark I think....sounds the same Jane.

My Mum used to made elderflower champagne with the flowers and elderberry wine with the berries. We lived in the countryside and I remember as a child collecting both. You’ve brought back some happy memories. Thank you Pat 😊
