Isn’t this a picture post card cottage?
Beautiful thatched cottage where Dorothy used to live has been bought by a couple who love gardening & for the past year have spent many hours in this idyllic place.
Jeff & Margaret have added the extra bit on the back which has a glass roof & it has improved it massively.
One of our lovely neighbours down our lane!
Harry says a lot of upkeep though & he’s right!
Three good things:
1. The window cleaner trimmed the ivy on the the front of the house. It needs doing every couple of years but a bit unhappy this time as it’s left marks on the front of the house...not good when you’re trying to sell!
2. Friends coming round tonight with fish & chips so will be lacking in the commenting tonight!
3. Garstang much busier today...almost looked back to normal. Not sure if anyone is spending any money but it looked a happier place.
@taffy has got the word out of my mouth !! Such a beautiful place but I am with Harry - a lot to do to keep it in this beautiful all round condition .FAV
@beryl It’s all the wood, have to keep patching the black wood bits....it’s looking the best it’s ever done though. They have put up a summer house behind me as I took this photo & a new greenhouse to my left.
Oh this is exquisite, though I am sure Harry is right - plenty of work to keep it that way! Chocolate box perfect in this picture.
Thanks for your wonderful words yesterday. We plod on! Five minutes at a time. I share your thoughts re sailing..... it is madness. But then you can't "distance" within a yacht or on a dinghy teaching children. I can see their dilemma, but I just want to get on with it now!
also chocolate box perfect too :)
