Harry getting in our neighbours two horses this afternoon.
Janet had gone to some horse event & won’t get back in time so she rang Harry to do the usual.
Lovely blue sky but it’s not quite as warm as it looks...we have sat out all afternoon but glad to come in for our evening meal.
Three good things:
1. Just watching such a talented musical family. The Kanneh-Mason siblings, there are seven of them & have played in many prestigious places & events. A very interesting programme about their lockdown at home in Nottingham.
2. Volunteer litter pickers!
3. A very good evening with friends last night. Seemed strange to be having people round after so unsociable for weeks.
Nice of Harry to be so neighbourly - I am sure he enjoys keeping his hands into a bit of animal husbandry!
Just been watching the program on TV - what a delightful and talented family - such a lovely program for Sunday evening !
It has been very hot here this afternoon , a tad too hot to do anything outside !
@beryl I thought it fascinating Beryl....I had to go in the sitting room as Harry was watching the Grand Prix but what joy they got out of their music. I thought the girl with the orange top was superb!
They must be very quiet horses that do as they are asked! Perhaps you should shift to the other side of the house, smaller and rent the bigger area out! You would be missed if you left!
@maggiemae We thought of that maggie but the reason we’re moving is to be nearer the facilities without getting in the car each time. Many a time we question if we are doing the right thing but know it’s sensible. Harry will be back to do any animal minding needed! @onewing@louannwarren
Ah, well done Harry!
We haven't really had people over yet - just one friend now and then at a distance for coffee in the garden. I feel I can't really do it yet as I am caring for my parents who are in the "extremely vulnerable" group. Can't risk catching anything and passing it to them. One day.......worth it just to see them still healthy now.
@sangwann Ha ha no experience at all....He is very used to cows but not horses. Janet leaves everything ready, all he has to do is shout!! Sometimes if she’s away for a while he feeds them too.
@casablanca We were invited to our daughters yesterday but we said no as our SIL’s family were going so didn’t think it fair if too many went. We have to be sensible! You are very wise...would never forgive your selves if they caught anything! Only another couple so we didn’t push the rules.
Good for Harry. Last time I was traveling to Mum's the car and trailer in front of me came to a slow stop as there was a beautiful young horse out of its paddock on the road. The driver maneuvered his vehicle and trailer so that the horse had to go in the opposite direction rather than head for the busy road ahead and the driver behind guided it into a field.
Certainly a memorable journey!
