We stopped at our nephews farm on our walk today. They have some sheep in here so had been feeding them as we arrived.
You can see young Harry talking to my Harry about farm bikes.
Young Harry has featured in my 365 posts before...I took his picture holding his pet hen, could be ten years ago now but some of you may remember!
He’s now a fully trained tractor mechanic. He is on call this weekend, he could go anywhere in the country where his firm has sold a machine...could be Aberdeen!
Three good things:
1. I put our front door key in my pocket but when we arrived home no key! I think it must have fallen out of my pocket when I took the phone out to take photos...could be anywhere along those muddy fields! We stood outside dithering wondering what to do for five minutes panicking a bit then Harry went & tried the side door! It was open...the postman had come to that door with a parcel & I hadn’t locked it!! Relief!
2. Chatted to our old neighbours on our way round.
3. Leant about slow cookers on the way home...I’m missing my Aga for purposes of slow cooking you can leave in the oven for hours! A slow cooker might be the solution!
Oh my goodness, what a fright over the key! Glad you could still get in. Love this photo - just so evocative of modern farming life and great to see Young Harry there too!
Not doing well - just wrote a comment , then lost it !! Such a bif farm building - nice to see the two Harry's having a great chin-wag !! Ooh Pat one of my worst nightmares , is loosing keys - good that your back door ws unlocked - a blessing in disguise !!
We did get a fright! Not like our old house that has sash windows that could be prized up at a push, this place has proper locks & plastic doors...I eyed up the toilet window which was one of those slanted openings but thought no way can I climb in there! It would have been a locksmith job!
Lesson leant with hidden key!
@brennieb I love Lakeland...like nothing better than having a potter around there Breni! I’m missing being able to put a meal in the oven for a long time....the electric one seems very hot & I would feel bad leaving it on all the time! Will check that cooker out though!
@maggiemae Yes I dare say you can but not used to an electric one...this one seems to cook very fast....might be me...I will get used to it I dare say.
@beryl Yes it was a blessing Beryl....not a good idea to leave your back door open for a couple oh hours but it saved us! The door situation here is completely different. At the old place we only used the one door & had a spare set hidden.

What a shock you must have had when you lost your key. Glad it all ended well.
I love my slow cooker, wouldn't be without it.
Glad you managed to get in.
Slow cookers are wonderful things!
