A foggy evening. by happypat

A foggy evening.

Quite foggy tonight outside. We don’t get the same thick pea soup fogs we used to get in my youth.
Coal fires the only way to hear the house inevitably lead to terrible air pollution, these days fog is something us photographers quite like.
This is not our garden!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends...have a wonderful day.

Three good things:
1. Not good news that our area is in Tier 3 so lots of restrictions. We will make the best of it but the hospitality section will be devastated at this blow at the busiest time of the year.
2. Christmas cards all ready to post.
3. I have finished my library books so can go back to the kindle for a while...so much easier to manage & I can read with the light out.
Latest book is called Miss Bensons Beetle by the wonderful Rachel Joyce.
Very atmospheric image..
Bad news re level 3..tough times.

That is just beautiful. Very tough indeed. Such s broad brush these tiers, the whole of London is Tier 2, but there's so much variation between boroughs.

@julzmaioro Yes we think we will have to stay home this year...walking outside is ok but although would love to meet up & we are allowed is it silly to risk it? Five days where three families can meet up....it’s a big decision!

@boxplayer Same here Ayla...the top of Beacon Fell is in tier 3 makes no sense!

This is a very atmospheric image. Christmas will not be the same without freedom to see family and friends - here in NZ at present we are relatively free to move about.

That’s a lovely capture.

I have heard about the tough measures in the UK - just hope it works and some people don't spoil it! I looked on google for the Blackpool Ballroom and it is just so magnificent - also saw it was closed. That book by Rachel looks intriguing- 'about as feminist as your formidable great aunt"!

I love this image so much. I’m so sorry about your restrictions. This #covidlife we are all living is really something.

Love the mood you've captured.

Lovely moody scene. I remember the pea souper fogs when I was a child living in the city. Misty scenes are so much prettier these days and less deadly to the lungs too. fav

@maggiemae Glad you got chance to see the ballroom....closed now as it’s lockdown until the 2nd December & could be still closed after as well as we are going into tier 3 after then. You have to have your wits about you to keep up! I’m enjoying the book so far...it’s different. She also wrote that amazing book The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.

@onewing Nothing like that now Babs..the fog is mostly related to the damp & worse round water.

@gijsje @taffy @joansmor @pdulis @carolmw @susiemc

Thank you all...I appreciate your faves & lovely comments!

@dide You’re right Dianne...it’s a big decision to make about who you’re going to meet up with or stay home. We are allowed to meet up with three other households for five days...is it sensible though?

@louannwarren Isn’t it just aloud Ann...I expect your thanksgiving is different this year!

Very atmospheric. Beautiful.
November 27th, 2020
Looks much the same here Pat. Just doesn't seem to lift all day. It does make for beautiful pictures like this one though.

What a gorgeous shot!
November 29th, 2020
Stillness of foggy days is quite special.
The tier thing is likely to hit here too 🥺 Aberdeenshire is a huge area but one episode of Covid south of Aberdeen condemns us all!!
