Mulled wine & mince pies

We were invited to a neighbourhood Christmas evening for our road tonight.
Two of our neighbours across the road are very sociable & apparently all year have been having little singalongs on the clapping nights & tonight there were carols, mulled wine & one of them is a great singer & sings at The Cartford Inn so has all the sound equipment.
We got a present if two jars of homemade jam.
Very welcoming & lovely to join such a happy community after leaving our lovely Well Lane friends.

There doesn’t look that many here but because we weren’t allowed in the garden we all stood opposite the house on the footpath & any car that drove past got cheered!

Three good things:
1. We met lots of new neighbours!
2. Not far to toddle home!
3. Half price Christmas tree lights at the Garden Centre.
That looks just lovely.

Sounds like a delightful evening. Unfortunately here we are in lockdown and no social gatherings are allowed except for people in your own household

@bkbinthecity Oh dear that’s not good but we can’t mix except two metres apart, not in anyone’s garden or house of course hence we were all standing in the road well apart but together sort if. It was still a fun evening although not the same!

@thewatersphotos During the summer on a Thursday evening at 8pm the whole country stood outside their houses & work places & clapped our thanks for our wonderful National Health Service.
