We’ve been visiting our local reclamation yard today. Not your average reclamation yard but a posher version.
The first time we have been to look but our builder recommended we go to look at the flooring for our porch.
I must say it was rather fascinating seeing all the stuff in the barn....we have to try & remember we are going modern & must veer away from my natural instinct to go rustic!
Three good things:
1. Lots of choice of tiles, natural shone slabs & more modern stuff....I can see a disagreement coming up....Harry is still thinking farmyard!
2. Some reduced lights in the sale....I didn’t plunge in & buy thankfully but taking time to think things out.
3. Lydia is home for the Bank holiday...she surprised her mum & dad by arriving yesterday evening!
Somehow ,I guessed this was yours Pat , so interesting visiting a proper reclamation yard -- there is a good one on the Shropshire Welsh border - we went to it ones - fascinating place !
I love rustic as much as I love modern. I like @maggiemae 's idea of rustically modern...a Restoration Hardware style. I can't wait to see how your design dreams come together, Pat! And what a delightful surprise Lydia delivered!
Thank you all, we didn’t pick any of these handles.....too old for me even but I liked the look of them all together on that board. Our kitchen handles have a version of the two shiny ones but a different size.
I am loving this! eye went straight to the Great Western Railway signs. Fabulous nostalgia.
Thanks for your lovely post. Absolutely spot on. I couldn't have made it through the last few weeks without the help of God.
Nice shot!
I’ve been to this sort of place before Beryl but that one was just stuff outside mostly but this one was laid out like a shop......even had a cafe!
