This is sand art & he was making a great job of carving out the two dogs.
I don’t think I have ever seen anyone doing this in Blackpool before.
I took a photo but put a pound in his pot in thanks.
Waterstones book shop on the left. I bought a jigsaw as a present.
Three good things:
1. I haven’t been able to look in a full length mirror since we left Cathys house so I bit the bullet & went to Dunhelm & bought a £10 full length one so I could check my appearance before going out. Cheap at the price because when the new wardrobes go in there will be one on the door. No more using the windows as reflection.
2. Harry & I have been enjoying Winter Walks on BBC4 in the evenings all this week. Last nights was Arnside where my mum & brother lives for a few years after my dad died. My brother married the girl next door.
3. The washing line is back up after the wind blew it down.
I’ve looked at this photo a few times now & I can’t place why it looks false. This sand art seems to appear very suddenly & I have never seen anyone actually doing one from scratch. I know it’s timing & all that but this guy is just crouching down, he has nothing to kneel on, his trousers are clean too. The whole scene even to the carefully arranged piles of sand looks false! I could easily be wrong but I wish I had looked closer now, he was just holding the trowel not doing any work.
My suspicious mind thinks it might be a model just covered in sand put in place first thing in the morning!!
@beryl It just occurred to me when I looked at it…I think in this day of scams we are all a bit suspicious Beryl though I only thought when I examined it properly. I take it all back when I see someone actually modelling one.
Your mirror sounds like good buy
