Looking quite Christmassy now. We worked out how to fix the lights in our tree. We’ve always had a real tree until three years ago when our son & DIL in NZ bought us enough Garden centre vouchers to but a ready lit imitation tree.
I must admit I do miss a real tree but this one saves us so much work which is good. .someone suggested we stick some real real fur branches among the fake ones to get the lovely fir smell…..it’s a thought!
We had to re arrange the furniture a bit to fit the tree in better. The sofas have been moved round.
Three good things!
1. A visit from old childhood friends, they come every year, except last year of course so it was lovely to have a good catch up!
2. I went for my blood tests today at the surgery. Four hours later she rang up with the results…I was amazed. I have to go back next week for another kidney blood test…I have to drink plenty before I go. Just wondering if the rare tipple of whisky I had last night was still in my system! 😳😳
3. Special Cumbrian smoked bacon.
Beautiful tree! I like the idea of placing real branches on the artificial tree! Also your couches are in a great conversational arrangement facing each other!
@loweygrace We quite like them this way Lois especially in the winter when the view into the garden is not as interesting. It’s good to be able to ring the changes easily.
So lovely and homely Pat , The tree looks a treat and I like the twirl of lights around the beams ! Our decorations are up in the Attic !! hopefully Gary will get them down tomorrow !!
The room looks enchanting - you must love it. Xmas in your new home! The kidney test might be just a scan - you drink plenty of water which fills the bladder and it can be seen clearly.
Beautiful space for Christmas lights and I love the tree and reflection in your doors.
We have a small real tree but the smell isn't really very noticeable. Just enjoy what is there ... looks very cosy.
