We planted our new tree this morning.
It had a good soak overnight so hopefully will settle in nicely.
Our little wood has enough trees in for now although we might have to plant another cheap one the other side of this new one if we find the sun is burning the leaves a bit. Give it a bit if dappled light, it’s fine on one side but our south facing garden does get a lot of sun.
Three good things:
1. Went to see Downton Abbey at the cinema….I was disappointed. It seemed very disjointed & never got going for me somehow. The good news is as we were going in I got a phone call I had won a hamper in a raffle last week at the bowlathon. Picked it up on the way home & it’s brilliant.
2. The fencer man has been with the panels to mend our fence.
3. £25 compensation for the appointment cancelled by United Utilities.
4. Just remembered a phone call from NZ wishing me a Happy Mothers Day!
@casablanca Other people have said it’s good so it might be just me & Dot…Dot fell asleep! Would be interested in others opinion. Another friend loved it! Didn’t compare with The Duke which was fabulous!
Nice to see that tree - quite small at this stage. Harry and you should be good at planting trees - you've done many! How nice to win a hamper - does it have chocolate in it?
Your new tree looks impressive. Sorry you didn't enjoy the movie, I thought it was good. As you say it was a bit disjointed but it was an easy movie to watch and I needed an easy day.
Definitely not as good as The Duke though. There are two more movies I want to see over the next few weeks, hope they are good. One is Operation Mincemeat and the other is For Olivia, have you seen either of them?
Sorry to hear the film was disappointing.....I was wondering what it was like.

Haven't been to see Downton Abbey....yet!
