Checking out trees

Out for lunch….soup & a bowl of chips.
Harry checked out the trees in the pouring rain while I stood inside the greenhouse in the dry.
Woke up this morning & thought it’s a long day at home all day so out we went!

Three good things:
1. I bought my friend a present for her birthday next week.
2. People watching. The best table in the restaurant was booked & obviously a long standing booking on a Friday. It was interesting watching the very elderly couple go through their weekly routine. Tea first then after half an hour they ordered their meal…..fish & chips for her & gammon & eggs for him. He carefully removed all of the batter off her fish!
3. A delivery of supplies needed for our drive tarmac job next week. Wow so expensive! 😳. We guessed the price completely wrong!

@beryl Well I must admit we did hang about waiting to see what they were doing. We thought booking a table just for a cup of tea seemed a bit greedy….the best table with the comfiest seats I might add. The chap obviously was on good terms with the staff ….he went up & ordered & we hung about to see what they chose….pathetic really but that’s what you have time to do when you’re retired & have nothing better to do with yourselves!

It is good people watching! I wonder why she didn't remove her batter - its not hard! Perhaps she was hoping she would get away with eating the batter. Looks an extensive display of trees in this nursery! Doesn't look as if it is raining - must be a summer shower.
