I was going to upload some ducks for the Extras album but decided to show you this instead. I got a bit of a shock when I uploaded this photo because this boat was called ' The Predator'' & I thought an odd name for a boat. I have just noticed there is a sign in his window saying ' Women want me, fish fear me '' !!!
There was me with my camera merrily snapping away, he might have thought I was interested !!! He was in too, the chimney is smoking !
Hahaa!!! Could have got more than you bargained for from your trip to Sainsbury's!! Beautiful barge - we have one very similar called 'Dragonfly' - I'm always trying to photograph it but it never looks a stood as this - i must not be leaning far enough over the river....
@judithg There are a lot of boats tied up in this basin. It's close to the shops of Garstang & there is a pub with food on the other side. Quite a few of these boats are lived in all year round Judith. Dragonfly is a far nicer name than The Predator.!!!
Oh oh! You did get more than you bargained for, Pat! Interesting what the camera sees and what we don't notice right away. Really beautiful lighting on this and I love the bits of ice there. I've always wondered what life is like in those boats.
@karenann Surprisingly good inside Karen if somewhat cramped but I can see the attraction sometimes !!! The smoke was puffing out so a good wood fire going !!
Hmmm... I bet he's single! Quite a fine looking boat though it makes a good picture. Glad you walked away from the clutches of the Casanova of Garstang.
Is that a satellite dish on top? I had to blow this up to see all the stuff...doll clothes hanging in the window? And it looks like a large hedgehog on the front bumper! How fun to imagine living there, but I'm not sure I could handle the reality on a cold, rainy day.
