Why I was wearing that top heavy flower on my head goodness knows!!!!

You know what? I think you're just as attractive now as you were then. Top heavy flowers were the fashion then I think, some brides even went as far as chrysanthemums. This makes the rose. Actually, what is that flower? I don't think it is a rose, but I'm terrible at naming flowers. It makes 'whatever it is' quite delicate and understated for the time (okay, I may have made the top-heavy thing up!)
