I always walk past Coral Island amusement arcade on the way to the shops from the car park & must admit I have never been inside this place before although you can hear the bingo caller as you walk past.
I went in today to see if there was anyone playing bingo & was amazed how many people there were in there, playing slot machines. This is only the bingo bit but the place was really busy!!!
A complete contrast to my life but they all looked very happy so each to his own!
Or House this Is a nice photo Pat never been to Blackpool would love to visit one Day I love the way people speak In Lancs , I remember watching a programe on BBC about Blackpool about Hotels very Interesting .
@gerry There are lots of hotels of all descriptions in Blackpool Gerry in fact they could do to lose half of them & then the ones left could make a living!
You have captured the atmosphere of the place. I used to love the amusement arcades when I was young. A few pennies on the slot machine was a great treat. Too expevsive now.
oh dear Pat , believe it or not we have TWO amusement arcades in arnold .....although you cannot see in them (they have a screen just inside the entrance.....i think the licensing prevents them from having an 'open to view door')
i like your colours and light.....as for the actual place......you've captured it's tackiness really well with the ugly roof and the orange litter bins .
i know it's your Blackpool, but I find the image quite a sad reflection on our society....there PAt your picture 'spoke to me...made an emotional effect on me'...so it worked !
Oh Hastings just the same , I used to love the machines with the mini crane that would grab you a furry dog!! But, obviously never did!! Oh this is so horrendous Phil is so right, but tyen aren't we so lucky?
@phil_howcroft I really think they are the pitts don't you? I must be a tremendous snob although they are rather fascinating because of the awfulness!!! Blackpool is full of photo opportunities but really only go there when we have to, much prefer Preston but longer to get there.
@happypat Pat, I don't think you should call yourself a snob, you are just sensible and discerning ...who on earth want to sit in a dingy arcade, losing money, filling the pockets of the owners...when it's a beautiful day outside ....I could go on but mybe 365 isn't the right place to have a rant .......I know you are right in your observations Pat :)
