The same scene as Tuesdays shot only a sunny day & much bigger tide.
The promenade was closed off & wisely so, it was pretty scary for a person who is frightened of the sea like me.
The roads in Clevelys were apparently covered in foam last night according to the news!
Makes for impressive photos though!! I was talking to my mum last night about the proposals to knock down Preston Bus Station and the Indoor Market (she's more bothered about the latter!). The sad thing seems to be that they aren't doing it because they have great plans for regeneration but just because it's cheaper than fixing them up. She said her cousin in Blackpool says the town centre there is struggling as well. At least Cleveleys Prom looks nice and smart.
@judithg Clevelys prom is beautiful Judith & also Blackpools too I might add. On the news last night that they are considering knocking the bus station down as they can't afford to maintain it & looking for a private consortium to develop it. Blackpool is struggling & also little Garstang is about to get another charity shop. Times are hard indeed! I agree with your mum, the market is much more important that the bus station in my opinion!
What are the white bollard looking things here? Great photo of the whole pier like this! On an equal and depressing note - our small town has just had a closing of a woollen mill with the loss of 200 jobs!
Lovely to compare the two shots - one so dreary and one so vibrant - that blue sky is awesome, but those waves do look treacherous - brave you to risk getting so close for the shot!
@maggiemae The tall ones are lights maggiemae but don't know what the others are.
Sorry about your mill closing always devastating for the local community.
