The first bike I bought with my own money was like the one on the left. With ten speeds. And racing handlebars. And a skinny seat. I can't tell you how many hundreds, maybe even thousands, of miles I logged on that. My first fling. I think the one on the right is more my (comfortable and sturdy) style now.

I would definitely take the touring route with the street bike on the left. My off road riding days have been left behind somewhere and I can't seem to find them. :)
