@barrowlane I played for a womens afternoon team when we lived at the other far Rob but when we moved I stopped & have never played since...must admit i was quite tempted to have another go this afternoon!
There were four ladies with these two menfolk so think they have enough to deal with...Harry is on the left btw!!
Oh, how fun! This looks very much like Bocce Ball, but I think there's a difference in the ball shape with lawn bowling and Bocce. Well photographed action shot!
@peggysirk Thanks Peggy...keep telling Harry to wear his shorts but they only come out when he is in NZ for some strange reason!! I think he thinks not a farming look!!!
looks like Harry has been a bit heavy handed on his 'bowl' Pat...it looks like a bouncer :) ...nice POV ...although his mate is struggling a bit to get down !
@phil_howcroft Funnily enough Harry gets down lower than the others...some of them just drop it on the ground & it bumps along but still mostly beat Harry. Always a close match & they are only practising they tell me...what for I don't know!!!!
Very nice shot. I researched British Lawn Bowling, and the rules are very similar to Bocce. Many, Many years ago, I belonged to an *Italian Social Club* and we had a Bocce court. We played quite often and the club tradition called for *losers to buy the next round*. Many fond memories.
@sparkle Why does that not surprise me Juliette...I can just imagine how good you would be!!! I used to play in a ladies team but gave up when we moved here ...I have a little fancy to play again!!
