We went to watch Jack in concert last night at the Guild Hall.
A musical evening high lighting the musical talents of young people across Lancashire.
Eight different groups from schools & colleges plus the Lancashire Sinfonietta they ranged in sound from Brass band, Jazz, Guitar, Ipad Orchestra, Samba & something called a Skoog Orchestra from Pear tree special school.
They all played two pieces then came together for 26 minutes of absolute amazing music composed by a young composer called Tom Harrold winner of several prestige composer awards...a very nice evening.
Great capture of Jack and his friends. Sounds like a fabulous concert. I am aghast at how many of our schools are dumping their music programs with budget cutting. argh!
Wonderful shot of Jack. I loved doing this when I was in school and going to see my Andy when he did it. Hope the grandkids take it up to keep me going to performances.
looks like you got close to the action here Pat...nice shot...both our daughters were young musicians and we used to love watching them play in various ensembles / orchestras etc.
There is something so wonderful about seeing and hearing young ones play something they love...to have such passion and talent at such a young age is such a rare gift...and kudos to the people that brought them together to experience this.
