Sunset over the Vistula River by haskar

Sunset over the Vistula River

I am standing on the bank of a river. There should be water everywhere here but there is none. The water level has reached its lowest point in history. We have a huge drought. And on top of all that came the Genoese low and within 24 hours it flooded the Czech Republic, Slovakia and southern Poland. There is a tragedy in the flooded areas, dams are bursting, cities are flooding.
Beautifully captured

Your photo is beautiful, but your narrative is scary.

very nice image.... I get it with the draught. We have had less than 4 inches of rain since the middle of June here....not good. Way to go on this one!

Stunning capture of this magical scene.

We are following it in the German news, it is quite horrific! Hope you and your family are safe where you live.

I hope you are safe - water can do terrible things - whether it be too much or too little. Lovely image though.

A beautiful and magical scene , but a scary narrative - keep safe !

A fabulous capture but the storyline is very sad, hope you are not too badly affected.

A terrific shot - but what a cruel combination - drought and then flood..

Mesmerising story telling image and narrative.

I would end up digging in the dirt that is normally covered in hopes of finding some long lost treasure. Sometimes nature is revealing what has been lost.
Stunning image. I look forward to the shot you will take when it is full again. (our pond in the back has been very low, near empty, for two years. This year has overflowed it. Rain will come :-) )

Just coming back from Austria, and checkin in on you, and I'm glad you are ok. But I'm so sad for all the lost lifes, and all the flooded areas, also in your country. What a tragedy. Stay safe and take care.

Wonderful image. I hope you are safe.

It seems so ironic that this river needs the water so badly and there is water overwhelming places that don't need it. I hope your country will recover and that you will be ok. Such a beautiful but sad shot.
