The boys were lucky enough to march in the Concord parade again today commemorating the Battles of Lexington and Concord that started the Revolutionary War. The parade route goes right over The Old North Bridge, where they fired the "Shot heard round the world" and I have to say, it is a pretty special event.
The boys get to march with their Cub Scout pack because our town sent men to fight back in 1775. Finn volunteered to help carry the banner for a Veteran's group, so he got to march up front with all the soldiers. He was in his glory, I'm sure. He even got to stand right by the bridge as they fired off the cannons! If you look closely, he is the scout in the hat in the bottom corner of the shot. The other two brought up the rear with the rest of their pack. They are in that gaggle across the river somewhere waiting to cross. This picture, while not so great in the specific, does a good job of giving a feel for the event. It was a really gorgeous day for a really great parade.
