Farewell Big Papi by hbdaly

Farewell Big Papi

The final game of the regular season here and the Red Sox did it up in style with an over the top celebration of David Ortiz' outstanding career. I just watched on tv (and yes, took a crappy iPad picture of it) but it was so much fun to watch. So many great moments! As a fan of baseball, it's important to realize when you are seeing a player of a generation - one who is now heading off into the sunset. Not before he leads us on another playoff run, that is! Watch out Cleveland, here we come! :) Man I'm gonna miss that smile!
life long cub fan, but i have enjoyed watching papi, especially the this is our bleeping city moment.

@chard He has always felt genuine to me - even if some people think he's too much. is it too much to ask for a Cubs/Red Sox series? I promise our friendship could survive.... ;)

He does have a great smile. One of the neat things about having kids who play sports is following certain players. When our baseball player was in middle and high school, we watched a couple of great players at LSU and Mississippi State who went on to the majors. Then one summer we planned our California vacation around baseball and saw Will Clark play for the San Francisco Giants.
