washing apples by helenhall

washing apples

I got my inspiration today just by turning the tap on! I have been playing indoors as it isn't so much fun outside today. Had a lovely conversation with my Dad about the techniques he used to use for processing B&W film - cutting out shapes of paper to increase, decrease exposure on parts of the image. It is all so easy nowadays, and just as much like magic!
The lighting is great! Love the colours too!

A great idea Helen and so well executed. Love the bubbles and the light.

Love the light and apples and bubbles! I think darkroom work must have been very satisfying, but am glad we can do out editing on the computer now.

@leestevo doesn't it - although I can spend hours playing with photoshop and feel it is a bit like escaping to a dark room somewhere. thank you for your comment

Dodging & burning your Dad was doing - the hard way. Have you any of his pictures? Your apple picture is a beauty. The colour, the bubbles & reflections all combine so well.

@paulmann he tells me that most of the time he didn't have the patience for it but I remember being in the dark room (downstairs loo) with him whilst such things were attempted. Thanks for your appreciation of the apples - if I was on film, I would have run out of money shooting them!
