Angry swan by helenhall

Angry swan

Today you get angry swan - which is most inappropriate as my Lenten task for today is to smile more! It wasn't me that made the swan angry, but an approaching dog. It did give me the chance to realise the fear experienced by a small child in a pushchair that I was minding many years ago, when approached by similar anger at eye level.

I had a lovely early walk this morning in the sunshine, which was strong enough to feel as though it was warming right through to my bones. Not much joy with the camera though, and now I have to spend some time sorting through my Israel/Palestine collection from last October as my husband and I have an illustrated talk to prepare and it is coming up soon. So, head down and no distractions .......
Fantastic capture, instant fav

The details on the beak are amazing. I have always been mindful of swans, they can be so aggressive.

This is so clear and so expressing--I can even see those sharp jagged beak edges. Fav for this great capture. I was bitten by a swan once when very young, but seem to have suppressed all memory of that.

@dizzyd @rosiekind @dianen @flowerfairyann @kategoring @tristansmum @helenacharles Thank you to each of you for your comments. It is great to discover detail in the photo that wasn't seen with the eye. The jagged edge of the beak came as a surprise to me too!
