Today was spent back and forth between the Library and the Art Gallery, performing the 'Bedford Alchemist's Choir' We sang the periodic table. This crowd was gathered outside by the gallery watching a demonstration ... what happens when a stack of mints get added to a bottle of diet coke! The hands up are to volunteer to add the mints, and the expressions, are the result of watching the chemical reaction. I can't tell you what happened - I was too busy watching the faces!
Photographically this project is challenging me and I was driven to look up the basics again this morning as I still don't have a rapid grasp of how settings will influence my shot. I am a slow learner. As for post processing ... decisions..decisions..decisions, there is so much one can do.
Thank you to all who continue to look in and comment and give me the odd fav to encourage me along. The critical comments are welcome too. Sometimes it is the best thing to push me on!
I did that experiment with my students when I was teaching. The result you missed was a giant eruption of soda. Always a favorite with everyone as you can tell by the enthusiastic reactions. Great idea using three shots to show the progression of the involvement and reactions to the activity. I am right there with you in terms of looking up the basics and feeling a bit overwhelmed at all the post processing possibilities. I just keep reminding myself I'm on my own learning schedule and will eventually learn everything I need to learn. :-)
@gaylewood I knew what was happening and had thought to capture it but the view was restricted so I turned to the faces. Thanks for your comment ...we journey together and alone!
I love the facial expressions you caught here Helen! I am rather a slow learner too. I was at a special interest group meeting (of my camera club) last night, which was supposed to improve my now very superficial knowledge of Photoshop. I'm afraid I understood almost nothing of what was presented. I will have to use a book and online tutorials and go through things very, very slowly.
@tristansmum difficult to learn software from a presentation. Just pick up a bit through experimenting - one step at a time. Or just look up on the internet when there is something you really want to do. Thanks for your comment and encouragement.
