a peaceful pause amongst the daisies

I took a wander along the river today and found the Bedford Regatta in full swing. There was much to observe in the bright shining sun: a wonderful floral display on one side of the embankment, the daisies full out on the other; a hive of activities with boats, cycles, spectators of all ages, officials and teams of keen young rowers all moving around. Needless to say, my camera got more exercise than my legs - which wasn't really the intention. I have chosen this one as it represents the stillness that was possible to find in amongst the bustle. Also, I have a question ..... I have a few variants on this shot. This one has the middle band of daisies in focus, another has more (but still soft) focus on the couple) and yet another with the foreground daisies in full focus and the couple more blurred. Where would you have chosen to focus?
Love the focus on the daisies. Very dreamy.

I really love it as it is Helen. It makes for a dreamlike photo and I can just imagine myself shrinking to wander through all those daisies.

I think I would have the foreground daisies in focus with the rest of the picture gradually going out of focus.

Beautiful photo! I like this one with the middle band of daisies in focus but I'm sure the foreground daisies in focus would also be quite nice. It sounds and looks like you had a spectacular day. This one is a fav for me! :-)

Nice, Helen. Interesting choice of focus point. It creates a summer-hazy kind of look which suits the content

Beautiful shot!

I really like the focus and light here, and it's a fav for me. I think I would also have liked it with the front daisies in sharp focus and everything else blurred.

@flowerfairyann Thank you Ann. It was a very beautiful display of daisies and I know what you mean about wanting to shrink down to enjoy them.

@paulmann Thank you for your comment. The daisies at the front did look really good in sharpest focus at the front, I used that image on a facebook page as the couple ended up less identifiable and but perhaps too much of a blur. I guess what I needed would have been a slightly wider dof to get it right.

@gaylewood Thank you Gayle for your thoughts and for your kind comments. It was a lovely day by the river yesterday and we have had sunshine all weekend.

@helenm2016 you are right. The scene and day really did have a summer-hazy kind of feel to it, so I am happy if that is what you read into the photo. Thank you for your comments.

Absolutely love this. The daisies are in full flow at the moment and this is a great perspective. Instant FAV!

@daisyditch thank you Daisy. Obviously it means twice as much to me if the subject is Daisies and you like it!

Wonderful shot Helen! I love your focus on the middle band of daisies (they're so happy!). A focus on the front band I think would have looked lovely too (in my mind), but I'm not sure I would choose more focus on the couple - I like them blurred and I think it's perfect you focused on the daisies!
