Snail with beautiful baggage

This snail on the pavement set me thinking this morning. I was contemplating an analogy between carrying our baggage around with us in 365. It was something to do with the fact that I am having to learn that I don't actually need my back catalogue of photos to draw from each day but am capable of using the new opportunities that each day presents for creativity. It's a confidence thing.

Well it has been a long day, so now I think I won't bother with perfecting the analogy (it has flaws in relation to the picture).

I tried to separate the snail from it's background and onto a mossy log. It didn't work - I'm not sure I have the technique right. So here you have it - the snail as seen first thing this morning.
I was photographing snails in my garden yesterday evening.... counted at least twenty !!!
Good shot. Its amazing what you begin to notice all in the challenge of 365 daily postings !!

Beautiful capture! Even a snail has beauty. Wish I could have seen your edited version.

What an absolutely lovely capture, Helen! I love this little snail, how beautiful! I don't do well switching backgrounds as a general rule myself, so I understand - and I would find it particularly hard here where the background is uneven (all the little stones)... I'm not a very good editing person :)

@kerosene I'm glad I managed to post it at all as the computer crashed every time I thought I had the snail selected. I have taken the cover off and dusted it out and now it only reboots instead of switching off. Not much better! I think the background colour is too similar to the snail to get a good outline - for a novice!

@noko411 No you really didn't want to see the edited version. I gave up when the computer continued to crash on me. Thanks for your comments.

@dizzyd I think the snails like this weather. At least is suits some creatures. I agree, the things we are now looking at like never before ...

Fabulous capture, Helen! I like this wet, textured background...obviously perfect for the snail. Fav! :-)

@gaylewood thank you Gayle. Maybe not so perfect for the snail though - I for one, am more likely to tread on it! ;)

Lovely shot and what a super house he carries around with him. I think the background is fine, it shows him in his own habitat.

He looks to be on a mission and speeding along (as much as snails can speed).

I think snails are beautiful, both their shells and their bodies, and I love the detail in this capture. Fav for me.
