Cambodia: Fermented Fish Paste Market

At the other end of the day on 18 November. Our tour around the market famous for producing the popular fermented fish paste was brief - of necessity. None of us had the stomach to stay any longer although it was fascinating to observe the workers, in awe of how they manage the working conditions.

The fish paste was duly sampled in heavily diluted form within a popular egg based dish. Not a culinary experience that I will be looking to repeat any time soon.

Must have been a truly pungent aroma in the air Helen! Can imagine how smelly this was. Great candid shot.
