Advent Window Twenty One

My text from the Advent windows entry on the face book page:

Winter Solstice brings the shortest day, and today's photograph, although not quite the shortest day (it was taken yesterday), illustrates the delights of a mid-afternoon sunset along the Embankment. From here-on-in, each day will have more light but the increments are tiny to start with. Tomorrow will be just a few seconds longer than today and we will be unaware of the difference.
Sometimes, we are impatient for big changes to happen once we have turned a corner, but although the path may be certain, the progress can take time to decipher. If you identify with this - hang on in there - the important thing is that the corner has been turned, the right decision made, the wheels set in motion.
Superb shot!

Nature's wonderful sunset and trees contrast so well with the hard lines of the metal structure (is it a bridge?). Fab shot for the solstice.

@flowerfairyann Ann thank you for your comment. Yes this is a bridge - I have featured it a few times in my photographs. Just a short walk along the river from yesterday's bridge.

A bridge - leading from one bank to another - from a time of short days to long.
Very nice Advent window!

The lines accentuate the bare branches of the trees and the golden sun!

How lovely Helen. I like how you have framed the shot. Beautiful afternoon sunset. Has a real sense of the winter chill too!
