Everywhere else is fear.
Fear feeds violence
New barriers are built, only this time in minds,
reinforcements brought in,
until coming first no longer matters...
As fear belongs to those who are first,
and to those who are trodden upon.

(context: I was hanging around on the border between a vandalised house and a garden wall looking for a picture. The dog was barking loudly. The photo was pretty awful, but got me thinking)
