Yellow Coaster

Instead of catching up, I am getting further and further out of touch.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before I started posting from this set of four brightly coloured coasters in orange, yellow, green and blue. What, with the rain and other commitments it is all I managed today.

I stopped dead at the entrance to the old Victorian arcade in Bedford this morning, and started to eye up the Large Yellow bank of lockers which have suddenly appeared, most incongruous to its surroundings. And then I realised that the homeless man, who takes his place under the cover of the arcade, had been displaced by these Amazon lockers. I remarked upon the fact and then got into long conversation with him whilst he denounced the local charities that work for the homeless. He felt that the lockers had been placed so, deliberately to oust him. I did have in mind to return later in the day and ask for a photo, but his name and face jogged a memory and having raided the collective knowledge of the team at work, and sourced some old footage of him on you tube and in the local papers, I realised who I was dealing with and opted out. But at least I can walk past him in the mornings now and say hello, look him in the eye and use his name.

An intriguing story. Who is this man? Was he important? I like coasters nowadays and use them for putting my large G&T on!

@maggiemae One of my colleagues described him as being in the "difficult to reach" category in terms of helping. She had had a discussion with him whist he staged a 'sit in' on top of a telephone box, which ended up on you-tube and the press. He also led a group which took over a coffee shop in town and squatted there demanding accommodation, in the end the charity run coffee shop had to close down. He is an intelligent man, well able to put forward an argument and willing to work, but still on the streets one year on. He also tweets. I don't fancy ending up in the local press inadvertently so will proceed with caution.

Curious story to accompany the coaster shot. That pops out very well on black, incidentally!

@moonmtn either that, or I need someone to talk some sense into me! Still ... tomorrow is the last day.
@domenicododaro I know - it is a tenuous link, but I was looking for my Yellow shot when the encounter occurred. Thanks for your comment.
