Abstract August 9

There won't be too much of a need to guess this one. But the necessity to look down amidst all the rain, and to shoot downwards to avoid a wet lens led to the inevitable find of the fallen leaves of late Summer.

At least it provides a bit of bright strong colour, of which there is very little around these last few days.

Even capturing this was an act of dedication. What with the umbrella in one hand, and bags in the other; the need to negotiate puddles and heavy traffic, the rushing to get home in order to get out again with no time for dinner; creativity is the last thing one wants to get to grips with.
Your abstract series is really a new way of seeing!

This is an amazing red - perhaps always this colour? Good for you for persevering in all that wetness!

Helen, the struggle was well worth the effort..
the colour is superb but so is the darker 'leaf' shape within the leaf.. love the frame-filled composition and placement within the frame..
