Despite my bursting abstract data store, I had in mind to make an effort to hunt down a fresh one for the last day of the challenge. I knew exactly where to go as with the sun out as an array of bridges over the river ensures that they are never in short supply. I remember the very first photo I took of the reflection of the suspension bridge, and my delight at the outcome. I think I had never before notices what a wealth of beautiful patterns were available for the taking.
The one I have chosen, for today, comes unexpectedly from the Butterfly Bridge, as opposed to the suspension bridge which usually opens up a plethora of interesting twirls and patterns in green and white. It just happens to be the one I like best from today. No editing needed. Just a vertical flip.
I have had fun, and I have learned that all the best things happen to occur naturally. There has been much less messing around in photoshop than I originally intended, and much more opening of eyes and just seeing.
Thanks for your visitis and comments and encouragements to me throughout this abstract journey.
I've thoroughly enjoyed your abstract month Helen, I think I have actually preferred the shots that have been unedited. Is it now time to call off the data police?
i'm with Suzanne's comment on this one. and this shot is so lovely with its lines and colors. I especially like how you captured the white/gray all the way across the frame and how it is crossed by the more the narrower reflections. so well done.
You've had a successful month and are ending with another great abstract. I think you said it best though- more opening the eyes and seeing- that is what any photographic genre is about. Great month Helen! And a great shot to end with.
I've always thought of abstract as being hard lines and for me, not easy to understand. Your collection has opened my eyes. Have to say my favourites are the water ones - I find them so calming. Congratulations on completing the month - quite a challenge but you've met it admirably.
