Downing College

I realised when walking with a map (after making a complete idiot of myself by falling headlong into the road and having to get up and carry on as if nothing had happened!) that my route back to the bus stop in Cambridge yesterday, took my within yards of Downing College.

I took a brief detour to see the college where my father gained his degree in Engineering all those years ago. There are many clever people in my family, they are largely an academic lot, but I don't count myself in with the rest of them. My brother went to Cambridge as did my Uncle. We are a family of Drs teachers and rebels. As for me .....

I couldn't get shots right on my camera, but this one on my phone came out ok. Not very inspired though, but it was interesting to me to see where Dad spent his undergraduate days.

Yes, lovely place to walk around. The architecture is brilliant and you can get some really good shots. Love this building.

@onewing yes, I think we value our memories more as we grow older and look to make connections with them. I have a grazed knee like a small child but no harm done. Thanks for asking!

I did a degree later in life in London. But I did attend a course at Downing college many years earlier in connection with a local government diploma. I liked it. Nice memories for you and me, thank you.
