VIntage Downing

Whilst I am waiting for inspiration regarding my tasks for this week, I though I would have a go at giving one of my Downing photos the vintage makeover.

To be honest, it already had quite a vintage look about it, but I did a quick google and found that adding grain texture and a vignette effect seemed to be the main ingredients.

I have never found the vignette creator in photoshop before, so I learned something new this evening. There lurking under the heading of Lens Correction, I found all sorts of delights and was also able to straighten up the horizontal perspective which was a little out (I had no intention of blaming my lens, but more, my haste).

And, that is on top of the amazing presentation made by Gavin Hoey at camera club tonight. I made it there and back without getting lost at all this time, and have now used up my 3 lives before having to decide whether to join.
You had a presentation by Gavin Hoey - what was it like, I am so jealous!! The picture is lovely btw:)

@fbailey he was very entertaining - it was a live presentation on lighting - he set up, took photographs and processed them in photoshop - almost like a magic show - so proficiently done. And some great results - made it all look so simple!

What a great image Helen, I love the processing and how by chance one of the windows has the blind down, it contrasts so well with the reflection of the tree in the window next to it.

i have no idea how this got past me, Helen. this is a great scene. everything in it is beautiful plus the crisp details and colour tones. it evokes a story in my head (whether that story gets on paper is another story altogether). aces on this, Helen. aces!
