As twilight approaches

The meander between the river and the boating lake comes to an end at the back of the school boat houses. And here, the setting sun, unable to find a natural horizon, slips down 'twixt the clouds and the trees, to shine upon others for whom the day is not yet over.

And so the day ends in Bedford, and the birds of the river are busy about settling their youngsters and finding their resting places for the night, as I pass behind the boathouse and return over the bridge and back along the river to home.

A pleasant evening stroll, thank you for sharing it with me.

I like that time of the late evening when all the birds are twittering or singing!

Lovely photos and writing, your story reminds me of The Wind in the Willows.
