I often speak of walking from my home into town along the river. It is, in fact, not the river at all, but a diversion made by the Victorians to create a tree lined promenade with the river route being diverted to form the straight banks alongside.
Never the less nature is flourishing, as evidenced by the arrival of the otters this winter. They weren't hanging out when I passed by today, although there were plenty of visitors of the long lens kind waiting expectantly. My sightings of yesterday arose enough interest for one of the professional wildlife photographers to give me his card and ask me to give him a call if I spotted them again!
For today, I had to turn my focus to one of the pair of Egyptian Geese that are often to be seen further along towards the town bridge.
