Sorrow

At a stretch it could be said that this photograph was taken on 18 January. Although I have been shooting dead roses today (Thanks Jane for the idea), yesterday I was out walking and had just about given up on the idea of even bothering to get the camera out of my pocket, when I decided to see if I could get something useful out of the texture in the lake. And so, I now have the first in what I hope to be a collection of texture shots. Just a subtle overlay of texture on this, gave it a texture which seemed to draw out the intended emotion of this shot For the inspiration to try and work more with textured layers, I have Clare to thank.

I like the perspective.

I'm going to look like I'm copying now, I'm posting a dead rose tomorrow! I took it a couple of days ago, but not posted it yet! I love the angle you have taken this from.

@janemartin As I said in my commentary above, it is me copying you! I look forward to seeing more dead roses from you . I didn't allow my husband to throw ours out today!

i missed this somehow - not sure if i am the clare mentioned - but, if so, i am highly flattered to be any kind of inspiration! i'm all for subtle textures, and i think it works very nicely here ... i know i'm guilty of being a bit heavy-handed with the old overlays at times ;)
