In the garden by helenhall

In the garden

I'm indebted to you all for all the encouragement throughout rainbow month when I have done so little in return. This week is still busy and then I will be away for a couple of weeks. So realistically, it will be after Easter before I can hope to be properly back on track.

I was so keen to get out and take a photo today, after all the staged shots of March. It was a beautiful day, but events conspired against me. Instead of a leisurely walk to work after dropping Dad off at the bus stop early this morning, I ended up driving round town after the bus, and found myself with the car at work. Which meant driving home as well. Although I was out at lunch time, the planned meander up to the park, turned into a rushed trip to a shop and back in time for a meeting.

So it was out to the uninspiring garden for me (neither of us are gardeners) as I was cooking the dinner, looking, desperately for anything that would make a picture. M came home to find me rolling around it the grass trying to catch a composition in the randomness that is our floral display. He was standing watching me for quite some time before I looked up to see him smiling to himself.

And this is all I have to show for it. I forgot I was supposed to be going out straight after dinner until he reminded me, so I left without my camera and whilst driving along the Embankment we had the most beautiful of sunsets which I just had to stop and grab with my phone.

Damn it!
It's always the way. At least we have a phone to capture the stuff we miss these days. I used to travel everywhere with my camera, but it gets heavy and sometimes I didn't use it. I hope you enjoy your trip.

This is a very pretty picture. It's funny how we all grab our phones, probably more to catch a picture than to make a call!

Well, you've got a lovely picture to show from your endeavours. Sometimes it feels like everything is conspiring against us but you always manage to pull off a shot.
