A visit to my son at St Thomas hospital in London is much easier by train than by car. It is a 25 minute walk along the Thames from Blackfriars station on the bridge, to the hospital opposite the Houses of Parliament.
My treat this evening, was that I was walking alone and at the risk of missing my train, was able to stop and have a go at a few longer exposure night images.
No tripod, and if I remember rightly, an exposure time of 4 seconds. Long enough to smooth out the water and pick up some star bursts. I was quite pleased with this - taken off the camera to phone and edited on the train, since I knew I wouldn't have time to look at the raw file for a while.
So now, to sleep. It has been a long day. (Hoping - again - to be able to bring my young man home tomorrow).
oh yes the longer exposure has worked so beautifully. love that we can still make out those iconic buildings. do so hope that your young man will be home tomorrow
You captured this scene absolutely beautifully! Amazing that you didn’t use a tripod and yet you got this wonderful result. I will keep you and your son in my prayers. Sleep well.
Hope your son recovers soon
